CREED THE SALESMAN

DFGI am a salesman. I’m proud of it. My job is helping people solve their problems so that all can have a higher standard of living, enjoy better health, have more leisure time and earn more of the good things in life.
DFGI believe in the competitive free enterprise system. It is the best thing that ever happened to free men. Without competition, there is no incentive – no reason for excellence – no exhilaration in winning. As a salesman, my heritage shines in the knowledge that my forebears helped build this great nation by selling more things to more people than ever in history and I aim to do my part in keeping American that way. Without sales, there is no business. Without sales, there is no freedom, without sales, there is no decent standard of living and a nation, a people, stagnate and die.
DFGI respect my profession, my company and myself. I am honest and fair with my company as I expect my company to be honest and fair with me. I think of my company with loyalty, speak of it with praise and act always as a trustworthy custodian of its good name. I am a man whose word is his bond with everyone. I am a booster, not a knocker; a pusher, not a kicker; a motor not a clog.
DFGI base my expectations of reward on a solid foundation of services rendered. I am willing to pay the price of success in honest effort. I look upon my work as an opportunity to be seized with joy and made the most of and not as a painful drudgery to be reluctantly endured.
DFGI remember that success lies within myself, in my own brain, my own ambition, my own courage and determination. I expect difficulties and will force myself through them. I will turn hard experience into strength and knowledge for future struggles.
DFGI believe in my proposition heart and soul. I will carry an air of optimism into every contact with customers. I will dispel ill temper with cheerfulness, kill doubts with strong convictions and reduce active friction with an agreeable personality.
DFGI will make a continuing study of products and services and their end use with related products. I will know my job in every detail from the ground up. I will mix brains with my efforts and use system and methods in my work. I will find time to do everything needful by never letting time find me doing nothing. I will hoard days as a miser hoards dollars. I will make every hour bring me dividends in commissions, increased knowledge or healthful recreation.
DFGI will keep my future unmortgaged by debt. I will save money as well as earn it. I will cut out expensive amusement until I can afford them. I will steer clear of dissipation and guard my health of body and peace of mind as my most precious stock in trade.
DFGFinally, I will take a good grip on the joy of life. I will play the game like a gentleman. I will fight against nothing so hard as my own weakness and I will endeavor to grow as a salesman and as a man with the passage of every day in time. This Is My Creed!
